The bread in South Africa was so good. This was just the beginning of our loaf affair...get it... On the agenda today, Satyagraha House and a very personal tour of SoWeTo. Satyagraha was Ghandi's place of residence for nearly 2 years while he resided in Johannesburg. Today it's a quaint hotel (can't be more than 7 or 8 rooms) that is built around the restored home, where guests can roam around the small but beautiful grounds. SoWeTo is short for South West Township and was formed over the decades of segregation and Apartheid, by the eviction of blacks and coloreds from Johannesburg, to these South West Townships. It is vastly different than the city, even today.
