Time for a day-trip! We piled in the car and headed about an hour northwest of Johannesburg to visit Maropeng - The Cradle of Humankind. The highlight of Maropeng, is being able to view the recovered bones of Homo Naledi. We then hit up Sterkfontein caves to see where the bones of Mrs. Ples and Little Foot were discovered. It is still an active dig site. For dinner, we discovered Malva pudding, our new favorite dessert.
